Caribbean Images' 16th anniversary gala celebration

Several luminaries will be honored at Caribbean
Images TV’s 16th anniversary gala celebration,
scheduled for Jan. 15th at 7pm, at the Adria Hotel
Conference Center, located at 220-33 Northern Blvd,
Bayside NY.
Among those slated to receive Caribbean Images TV's
highest and most prestigious awards areschool
chancellor Dennis Walcott, Nassau County legislator
Carrie Solages, NYC mayoral liaison Samuel Pierre,
veteran journalist Mithout Gomez for his role in
“Yon Denye Chans," the recently released blockbuster
movie shot in the heart of Brooklyn, Sanford
Rubenstein Attorney at Law, Leslie Leon of the NYPD,
Jeanne Vilsaint of Growing Step-by-Step,
Haitian-Dominican Good Samaritan, as well as
community activist Mercedes Narcisse, Jacques
Francois, editor/publisher ofJournal
Avent and Korebel org.
The star-studded event promises to highlight the
courage displayed by Rev. Matin Luther King, as the
civil right leader struggled against the last
vestiges of racism and Jim Crow during the 60’s,
according to executive producer Peter Pouchon. “His
hard work has translated into positive actions on
the ground,” Pouchon said. "We are celebrating his
legacy by honoring those who have made significant
contribution to the city, state and the country."
Previous Caribbean Images anniversary galas have
seen past honorees such as former NYC Mayor David
Dinkins, NYC Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly as
well as former presidential candidate the Rev. Al
Sharpton.
A string of talented artists have lined up to
provide live performances for the event, among them
Gospel Artist Claude Aurelien, whose suave voice
have galvanized ball rooms throughout the city over
the years and group E-Uneek, as well as guest
artists from Dezod Band and Bato Love Connection.
Guy Evans Ford will be the master of ceremony, while
famous DJ Esalar promises to provide participants
with some of the best and latest tunes for a special
event.
Other special guests include Hon. Toms River Mayor
Joseph Champagne, Helen Marshal, Gregory Meeks,
Yvette Clarke, Mathieu Eugene and Ronneyse Bichotte.
A free souvenir journal containing important
